Time to go GREEN......

Roasted Tomatillo Salsa

It's the first tailgate of the season, and it wouldn't be complete without Daddy K's tomatillo salsa!!!  Get ready!!!  It's time to go GREEN!!!

Ingredients:
1 lb of fresh Tomatillos
1 head of Garlic clove, minced
3 fresh Jalapeno peppers
1 bunch fresh Cilantro
Salt and Pepper

(Go HERE for the original recipe!  Ours has been tweaked!!)

Step One:  Preheat your oven's broiler.  Arrange the tomatillos and jalapeno peppers on a baking sheet!

Aren't these peppers beautiful!!!

Step Two:  Place the peppers under the broiler and cook for a few minutes.  Remove the peppers after they are evenly charred.

After one side is good and charred, make sure to flip the peppers over and repeat on the opposite side!  After the peppers have come out of the broiler DO NOT remove the charred areas!  It adds really great flavor!

STEP THREE:  After the peppers have cooled, place them into a blender with the garlic and cilantro.

STEP FOUR:  mix mix mix.....Mix until you have a beautifully thick green mixture!

Isn't the color amazing!!!

STEP FIVE:  After you have a good mixture, add a pinch of salt and pepper.  Refrigerate for at least a few hours!  It's best after all the flavors marry!!

And there you have it!!  The best Roasted Tomatillo Salsa you will ever eat!!  Be prepared!! It's very addictive!!

  3. Yummy! I’d love for you to link your recipe to Things I’ve Made Thursdays. I’m trying something new this week- We have two sections to the party- one for kids’ things and one for “Anything”!! I think this post would be an awesome addition to the “Anything Goes” party!

Hope you’ll stop by on Thursday and link up!
